I remember being a kid and getting so excited to watch the NBA games all day. You just got finished opening presents, and now you get to relax and watch the best basketball teams go at it. Each game was a better matchup until you got a prime Cavs vs. Warriors matchup in the primetime slot. Some of my best memories are being in the basement with my Dad watching those great games on a small T.V while the rest of the Christmas party was going on upstairs. It was also a nice break because after being fully invested in the NFL you get a break and see whats going on in the NBA. It was a sacred day that wasn’t tainted by any other sport. Now in recent years the NFL has decided to take over Christmas day no matter the day. Even this year stating they will have teams play on a Wednesday which is absurd.
Now I am a huge NBA fan but I am a diehard football fan and would rather watch a Jags Colts 9:30am London game than almost any regular season NBA game but I cant lie I kinda miss the NBA Christmas. Now the NFL Christmas day games do in fact rule. Kamara 6 TDs, Rodgers 5 TDS, The Nickelodeon Broadcasts of the game, but as much as I love watching football, something doesn’t feel the same about it. Maybe I just have nostalgia from the old NBA matchups and need to accept that the NFL is the best. No matter what was going on during last years games though I still found myself checking on the NBA scores whenever possible. The NFL games were great games but just didn’t have that same magic to it. I think i just need to invest in more TVs and have both playing What do you guys think? Is the NFL king and it doesn’t matter or do you also miss Christmas NBA?
