JJ Watt is oddly close to becoming a Cincinnati Bengal, and he knows it.
Just months ago, JJ Watt made a life-changing deal with the current starting goalie of Burnley FC, James Tafford. The deal was initiated when Tafford very respectfully, slid into the DM’s of JJ Watt (part owner of this English football club), proposing the idea of JJ coming out of retirement to join the Cincinnati Bengals.
JJ, being the wonderful man he is, didn’t give James a straight up “no” and instead told the goalie he would take Tafford up on his offer under one condition. JJ Watt agreed to join the Bengals in a return to the NFL IF James Tafford could go the remainder of the season without giving up a singular goal.
Fast forward 2 and a half months later, and James Tafford just made league history. Tafford has become the first goalie in league history to not allow a goal in 10 straight games played. Do you realize how mind boggling this is? Literally 10 straight shut outs. This kid is DYING to have JJ Watt be a Bengal, and is seriously on the verge of single handedly making it happen
If Tafford gets this job done, I would allow Tafford to be Ruler of the Jungle every week for the rest of JJ’s career. I will shotgun a can of Skyline Chili. I will run the Flying Pig marathon in a James Tafford jersey. I will buy Burnley FC season tickets. When you think of the current-day saviors of Cincinnati you will think Joe Burrow, Elly De La Cruz, and James Tafford.
Just to get people more excited, what if I told you Burnley FC only has 13 games left in their season (only about ONE MONTH’S worth of games), AND there is no way Tafford will be the goalie in net for every one of these, meaning Tafford has already finished majority of his part of the deal. WE ARE CLOSER TO HAVING JJ WATT ON THE BENGALS THAN WE ARE NOT HAVING JJ WATT ON THE BENGALS.
James Tafford, all of Cincinnati is behind you. You would be more loved than any FC Cincinnati player ever if you can get this nail in the coffin. I hereby PROMISE I will buy a Tafford jersey the day JJ Watt signs, and Tafford will hold the forever title as only soccer player I will ever care about.
